Amazing Grace

Grace can be defined as a virtue coming from God.  It is also defined as unmerited help given to people by God.  The hymn, Amazing Grace, has brought comfort to millions of people.   The United States is in such a crisis that, somedays, it seems we will not find our way to uphold our founding ideal of the human right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”    There have been  so many days of tragedy, mass shootings, suicide bombings, now even using vehicles to perpetrate violence. It is sometimes hard to believe that the darkest time comes just before the dawn; it is hard to believe that a dawn will ever come. The day of the massacre at Mother Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, was one of those days. Then, the 44th President of the United States gave a vision of a way forward. Our President’s response helped so many people cling to a vision of Grace. This video is a little over 30 minutes long.  If you don’t have that much time you can skip to about minute 32 and enjoy a reflection of Grace.
